Metzingen--shopping paradise!

Quoted from one of my professor:

"I went to Metzingen with the intention of buying a jacket, but i went home with a jacket, a pull-over and a pair of shoes."

Never ever underestimate the temptation of Metzingen, the city of factory outlets. It's actually quite a small town but what makes it so attractive has to be those factory outlets. One might ask " Factory outlets onli wat, wat's so special?!" Ok, just imagine the following:

Nike, Adidas, Puma, Hugo Boss, Swatch, Levi's, Marco Polo, Esprit, Reebok, Camel Active all gathered in one place and evrything are sold with a factory-outlet-price.

Sounds crazy huh? If there's such a place in Malaysia im sure it would be rily crowded until that place can be called a new"Wilayah persekutuan". Well, Metzingen is a place where all branded stuffs come together.

Imagine getting a pair of genuine Nike shoes for onli RM40 or a Adidas jacket for onli RM 50. Impossible rite? If u r a german who works in Germany n earns Euros, shopping in Metzingen is like going to supermarket. A german engineer earns about 4700 euros per month, roughly around the same amount like how much a malaysian engineer get to earn per month IF we dun convert the currency. Btw, 1 Euro=RM4.90. When one have 4700 euros per month, spending 100 euros in Metzingen for branded stuffs is ntg. But for us malaysians who always tend to convert the price to RM, shopping can rily be a "torture".

Torture? Did i say "torture"? Today i have spent about RM 400. If i was still in Malaysia, im sure my dad will slaughter me. 80 Euros onli mah... still ok rite? haha... I guess i have slowly got used to the currency here. I still rmb the 1st day when i arrived in Germany. Buying a bottle of mineral water was a struggle 4 me. 2 Euros = RM10. Walau eh!!! One bottle of mineral water costs 10 ringgit!!! Lesson 1 in Germany: DUN CONVERT! Just imagine that 1 euro is like RM1.... Then evrything will turn out fine... haha...

My new Nike cap: 10 Euros

My new swatch watch: 60 Euros

My new Esprit shirt: 15 Euros

My new leng zai look: priceless

Haha.. juz joking la... My hair is quite long ady nt dat nice. Anyway, bek to main pt. Before coming to Metzingen muz be ready to face the consequences of spending money. I rily admire those ppl who can go to Metzingen n come bek empty handed w/out spending a single cent.

Btw, im not the biggest spender today. Got ppl bought stuffs 4 more than 100 euros, a record which i would never try to break. I hope. ;b

Bon voyage!

This pic is kinda small... but anyway, i tink it's clear enuf to show a Malaysia Airlines' aeroplane. I took this plane b4 (to Germany la of cos!)... In a few days time, the wonderful, fun-loving group of korean- gals r going to board this plane as well to their destination --- 한국 ( south Korea).
To fly away from home is a new challenge for many. One can only go back home only once a year. Home-sick, depression, etc will eventually strike. What is rily important is to always trust God that He will always take care of our needs and we can always trust in Him wherever we go. Im sure tears will flow at the airport (surprisingly i dint).
Anyway, wish all of u a pleasant n a safe trip to Korea. Korea is rily a wonderful place to be in. Mayb will visit u all when i got enuf money...
To Michelle, u still owe me stg oh~ rmb? haha...

Get well soon, Eduardo...

Shocking... rily shocking...

Today, 23 Feb 2008, is indeed a sad day 4 all Arsenal supporters from all over the world. Arsenal, who was winning 2-1, conceded a last-minute penalty against Brimingham City n the final score was 2-2. The decision from the referee to give the penalty was dubious. There was contact with the ball. However, the worst news of all has to be the injury to Eduardo, the player purchased by Arsenal at the start of the season.

A broken left leg. I cant imagine wat thoughts that were going through Eduardo's mind when he saw his left leg in such a condition. The pain he suffered muz be so excruciating to a point where he had wished dat he never ever played football. The Brimingham captain, Martin Taylor, who made this horrendous tackle got a mere red card n 3 matches banned, while Eduardo faces a possible career-threatening injury. He might not get to play football again. Mind u, he's only 24 n he had planned to celebrate his birthday this coming Monday.

What rily made me flabbergasted was the post-match words from the Birmingham manager.
Blues boss Alex McLeish responded: "Martin's not a dirty player. He's distraught over Eduardo's injury." "I've seen the challenge and, yes, the studs land on Eduardo's ankle. In slow motion these tackles always look bad but he's not a malicious player - Eduardo was just too quick for him," he explained.

Too quick? So is it Eduardo's fault that he got himself injured because he was a gifted footballer?! To say stg like dat to defend his own player is rily ridiculous. Imagine someone did the same act to our loved-ones...

I wish Eduardo all the best 4 his future. I rily do hope that he will recover soon n play football once again. And i do hope such a violent act would not ever appear again in the beautiful game of football.

Germany, thru my eyes!

Before creating this blog, i've been to many places in Germany. 2 of them r Stuttgart, the capital of the state Baden-Wurttemberg, n Friedrichshafen. Below r pics from there. Enjoy!

Friedrichshafen:

The Katamaran. The fastest boat/ship at Boden-See (Lake of Constance). Our mean of transport to Friedrichshafen from Konstanz.

On board the Katamaran.

In Friedrichshafen there's a zeppelin museum. Rmb the famous "Hindenburg" Zeppellin that exploded, burned n crashed in USA?
Inner view of the museum

My 1st time seeing swans!

Mercedes-Benz Museum, Stuttgart:

Display of old....
And new cars... cool huh...
And also the famous F1-racing car!

In front of all Mercedes-Benz's cars got dat symbol rite? Here's the collection of it.

Burg Hohenzollern (The castle of Hohenzollern)

Once upon a time, there was a charming prince n a beautiful princess. They were happily together until one dreadful day, 17 Feb 2008, the prince woke up to found out dat his beloved princess was abducted by the evil witch n was imprisoned in the castle of Hohenzollern. The princess was to be sentenced to death at the stroke of 12pm that very day. Upon hearing the news, the prince immediately set off to save his beloved princess.

The castle lies at the top of the hill, where the prince had to climb up despite injured his knees the day before after playing football. Ouch!

The road to the castle was rily steep. Everyone struggled n complained about the tough conditions except the prince, who despite the excruciating pain in his leg, persevered on. The prince finally arrived at the entrance of the castle but....

"Hey, why dint anyone tell me dat there's a bus to the castle?!" There was actually a bus which brings ppl up to the hill, at the cost of 2 Euros.

At the entrance, the prince had to pay 4 the entrance fee at the counter. 6 Euros. Not cheap!

Without wasting further time, the prince entered the castle without knowing what dangers are lying ahead.

A postbox??!!! in an old castle?? weird...

"The princess is up there! there's still a long way to go! we have to hurry!" said the prince.

The path to the princess was not an easy one. The prince had to go through steep stairways with hidden traps...

Cold n dark dungeons...

eerie lockups....

Despite all that, the prince pushes on bravely. "We are close to the top! hurry!"

"Dun kill me!" The prince got a shock when he saw his own shadow together with the shadow of a statue.

"Move on! we r getting closer!"

That must be the place where the princess is imprisoned... but...

"Look! it's almost 12!" exclaimed the prince. Knowing that there isn't much time left, he dashed into the castle. (No photos are allowed to be taken in the castle, but i did it anyway. Below are 2 pictures inside the castle, exclusively 4 my blog readers. )

The prince ran through the castle...

Fought with the armed soldiers...

Finally, the prince managed to get to the place where the princess was imprisoned. However, the evil witch was beside her. " To save ur beloved princess, u have to kill yourself! wahaha!" cried out the evil witch. " I have laid a curse on the princess, a curse which kills the princess when the clock strikes 12. This curse could only be lifted when someone is willing to die 4 her! haha!" "No dear prince, do not sacrifice urself 4 me! " shouted the princess. However, the prince knew what he had to do. To live alone in this world without his lovely princess would mean ntg to him. Without the princess, life would be meaningless... he loves the princess so much until....

"Kill me... n let the princess go" said the prince bravely. "Dear princess, im sorry that im such a useless bump who could not save the both of us. However, my heart will be in peace knowing that by giving away my life i am able to save yours. Do stay happy always, my lovely princess. Marry someone who is a lot better than me n have children of ur own n live happily ever after. I love u!" "NO!! DUN DIE, MY PRINCE! Noooooo...!!!" BANG!!!

Here comes the hard part, i rily duno which ending is the best. Do give comments n suggestions abt the ending. Thanks! =)

Snow雪--finally, the long wait comes to an end!

I guess the picture n the title above says it all. Yes, after being on earth for 20 years 298 days(shud be correct i tink), i finally get to see n touch n play with snow last Friday. 雪儿啊,终于能看见你了!

It was an excursion organised by Inwent, our so called caretaker here in Germany. The place where we went to is called Feldberg, the highest point in Schwarzwald (Black Forest in Germany). It is a paradise for those who haven't seen any snow before like me n those who loves skiing. It's also one of the famous tourist attractions here in Germany.

First impression of 雪 = Beautiful!! The snow here r rily rily white! Most of them r soft n fluffy, a perfect weapon for snowball fights! The temperature here is not that cold, roughly around 3 degrees.

The first thing i did after seeing snow for the 1st time. Haha! Really cold inside!

Able to see the cable-cars in the picture above? Those are the transportation to the top of the hill for people who wants to ski. We were kinda disappointed when we were told by our "tour guide" Dr Bass that skiing is only allowed for those who had attended ski-courses beforehand. Skiing equipments are also quite expensive here. However, we were allowed to do something i have not done in my life - sliding down from a slope!

That's me in the picture sliding down from the slope with the help of a plastic bag. The feeling of sliding down from a high spot is rily undescribable. It was so so fun that everyone tried so many times with different styles n positions each time! We have tried sliding down 8 person in a line together, tried sliding down facing backwards, n flat on our chests etc... Fantastic feeling! There were many young german kids there sliding down with us as well. Some of them thought that we were "jakun"... haha... As if never slide b4... Below is a video of the whole process from my point of view.. enjoy..

Fun rite? i was sliding down with my fren, ah Pau that time. Actually the speed of sliding down shud b a lot faster than what is being shown on video, it's just dat someone is too f**, haha...

Like a slide, after sliding down, we have to climb up the hill again to enjoy that great feeling once more. While waiting for my turn to slide down, i managed to talk to some germans who were spending their holidays there. One german family had a rily cute son(in pic). They were there for the first time as well. Their son is rily kawaii! He lent me dat red slide-board(i duno wat dat thing is called, the germans dun have any idea as well!). With the board one can slide down faster compared to a plastic bag. Besides sliding, my frens managed to think of something else to do - bury me alive under snow!

That's me buried under snow... those people beside me rily cruel... After burying me then laugh so happily.. zzz... Anyway, the feeling of being buried under snow is not that bad also. It's not rily dat cold as i was wearing my jacket that time. Haha! killing me is not dat easy!

Below are some interesting pictures from Feldberg. Enjoy...

weird signboard inside a bar. 12000km to Sydney but 0.002 km to the toilet. zzz...

A cute little gal whom i met in Feldberg...

This little guy managed to construct a snowman. It's not easy by the way...

Young children playing with snow...

My Nike-shoe. Wait, that's not the main point. This shoe of mine was originally very dirty after playing football with it. I wore it to Feldberg n surprise!!! It became so clean like brand new shoes. Haha. When ur shoes r dirty n u r 2 lazy to wash it, wear it to places with snow! =)

雪, made my day

雪, really is beautiful... :b
