The day when it started to snow...

This post can be a bit lame, cos im not in a really good mood. yup, it has started snowing... although it was only 4 a short while, but hey, outside look really white... i tried to go out w/out wearing long pants, just shorts on... grrrr.... *shiver*.... My housemate say i better stay indoor, cos ppl might think im crazy... haha.. who cares... the cold was unbearable... my housemate wanted to start a snowballfight. He was all wrapped up in jacket and long sweatpants while i was practically wearing only outfits that are common in Malaysia: T-shirt + shorts. wat to do? cabut lari la!!

Reason 4 foul mood = Arsenal F.C.

Chelsea 0-0 Newcastle
Liverpool 0-0 Fulham
Aston Villa 0-0 Man utd

If u think that Man City vs Arsenal would have the same scoreline as well, u're wrong!!!

Man City 3-0 Arsenal!!!

Which team on earth can still win the premier league title after losing to Hull City, Stoke, Fulham and Man City? Only Arsene Wenger thinks that his team can. Watching Arsenal play was always pleasing in the eye. Attack non-stop, dun defend at all... But lately, the fluency of play has gone, no more goals scored, backline leak goals more than Tottenham Hotspurs(zzzz...)in recent games. The feeling of losing is bad, and gets worse when we lose to teams who had just been promoted. ARRGGHHH!!!!

Now, the captain has been stripped of his post 4 critising his own team, our main striker adebayor is injured, our speedy Walcott is out for 3 months... our only hope of silverware: Carling cup.

Life 4 Arsenal can't be any worse than this. It really irks me to see Jia Jin every week with his sickening smirk on his face. "what happened to your Arsenal, lost again? look how good Man Utd are playing" =.=!!!!

At least it's snowing now... christmas is coming as well... i shud cheer up...

Problem with arsenal is that they are no longer a star-studded team. It has become a breeding ground for talented youngsters to use it as a springboard for other more prestigious clubs and without any big names the likes of Terry, Gerrard, or Ronaldo the team just can't stay together. No unity in the dressing room means disastrous results. Wenger needs to get his mentality right and start pressing for more cash to splurge if he wants to win some silverware instead of looking for cheap bargains. Hell, look what Harry Redknapp is achieving with Spurs now when he has stars to work with! Otherwise I don't see it dropping out of the Big Four in the next 2 - 3 years with Man City and Spurs on the rise now that they have been given a leash of new life.

so u think a big name is essential for winning a tournament? see Real Madrid during their galactico's era... too many big names together is not the answer to the problem.

For me, i think that the problem lies in the physical appearances of the Arsenal players. During the time when we won the league and cup double, we had players like Vieira, Keown, Adams, Gilberto, etc who not only has good leadership qualities, but also a tough physical presence. The Arsenal players nowadays r too small in my opinion. No doubt they r technically gifted and possesses great speed, but with the lack of physical attributes means the chances of winning headers, 50-50 challenges are less. That also means that their defensive ablities like defending set pieces are not as effective as before.
wenger need to buy, no doubt, but not necessary a big name, but rather a strong and committed holding midfielder or defender.

My personal opinion la~

No i don't think a big name is always the solution to win a tournament, but a big name who commands respect among his peers and has good leadership qualities to be able to maintain unity among the lads is definitely an essential element to build up a strong squad. Of course Real Madrid is a perfect counter-example where too many big names do not work out but Arsenal desperately needs a leader...and they have not have one since Vieira's departure. Fabregas is awesome but to me he still somewhat lacks his tenacity and composure. Give him some time and he may rise up to the occassion. However if we want to prevent talented players like Flamini and Hleb from leaving in the immediate foreseeable future, the team will need a Stevie-G type skipper fast. Good leaders inspire and keep the morale high through difficult times and it's times like this they show their true mettle.

consistency,concentration,determination and stamina.
these are what arsenal lacks of.

buying big names isn't wenger's style.
he likes undervalued players.
