Volksfest a.k.a Oktoberfest (not in Munich but Stuttgart!)

The Oktoberfest is one of the most popular event that takes place every year. Ppl usually relate it to Munich, one of the largest city in Germany. Well, it's not wrong. However, Stuttgart has its own version of Oktoberfest as well. Similar to the Oktoberfest in Munich, Stuttgart provides a great variety of food, entertainment and of course, beer 4 everyone to enjoy. Basically, it's like a fun-fair. There are many rides for ppl of all ages. From harmless horse rides for kids to crazy Sky-Screamer for those adventure-seekers. Then there are stalls selling food and drinks like beer, hot-dogs(some up to a metre long!)and snacks. It's all about eat, drink and play, till u drop (or throw up)! =)

This is only a part of the fun-fair. There were MANY types of rides, some are even scary enough to make one wet their pants. Can fight with Spore Escape theme park.

BEER. Without it, there won't be any Oktoberfest. Crowds can be seen lining up just to get into one of the beer-drinking tents. Inside this building are ppl drinking non stop, partying and dancing all day and night with live bands.

Germans love sweet stuff. So all these lovely and so-nice-until-dun-feel-like-eating-them candies r being sold at most stalls here.

Including all these cute chocolate mice. Will u bear to eat them? >.<

cold cold cold....

After one month n seven days of total enjoyment and relaxation, the inevitable has come - start of 2nd semester. It's time to let go of the luxury of sleeping very late at night and wake up very late in the morning, not to mention the wonderful breakfast on the dining table that awaits me every morning. Days of dun have to worry about studies, projects and assignments have come to an end. No more tv shows, good food, n family's warmth. REALITY STRIKES!!! and it hurts!

The warm weather of summer has long gone, welcoming me back to Germany was the sheer cold of autumn. 5 degrees! Dun ask me hw isit like during winter, i dun dare to imagine. The feeling of emptiness attacks me both physically n mentally. Arrive at doorstep around 10am Germany time. Open the door, no one greets me. Oh ya, my housemate has just left 4 work. The whole house is surrounded by coldness n silence. Dun have sounds coming out from the tv at home, dun have the irritating voice of my annoying brother, dun have the nagging tone of my mum (just joking mum)... nothing at all, just pure silence. The only thing that i could do was to turn on my computer and listen to MyFM thru the internet, something which sounds more like home...

sigh... guess i need to shrug off this Home-Withdrawal-Symptom soon...

old song~

Was browsing around in popular bookstore in Plaza Pelangi, a place where i frequently visit during my sec school days... This was when i heard this song playing on the speaker...

Only Love - Trademark
2 a.m. and the rain is falling
Here we are at the crossroads once again
You're telling me you're so confused
You can't make up your mind
Is this meant to be
You're asking me
[Chorus]
But only love can say - try again or walk away
But I believe for you and me
The sun will shine one day
So I'll just play my part
And pray you'll have a change of heart
But I can't make you see it through
That's something only love can do

In your arms as the dawn is breaking
Face to face and a thousand miles apart
I've tried my best to make you see
There's hope beyond the pain
If we give enough, if we learn to trust

[Chorus]

I know if I could find the words
To touch you deep inside
You'd give our dream just one more chance
Don't let this be our last good-bye

[Chorus]
That's something only love can do

One awesome week!

2nd week in Msia. Well, still not much changes in my sleeping schedule. Sleep at 3, 4am and wake up late in the morning. Sigh...

Anyway, this 2nd week was quite a fruitful one. Went back to Shah Alam to meet up with my fellow juniors. Had the chance to visit KL as well, not mentioning the chance to eat those yummy food dat one cant find in Germany!

This is our room in Shah Alam. In my previous hostel to be precise. Can u imagine that such a place could even exist in our Cemara Hostel, the same place which i complained a lot last time? Got air con some more!!

Been to Klang as well. And this is stg that one shud not overlook when one is in Klang. Bak Kut Teh!!

This is a snapshot of The Gardens. The new shopping place beside Mid Valley. Looks grand huh... Anyway, things there r rily expensive. Even after converting my Euros!

Attended CA as well. Had the chance to conduct the ice breaking session. The juniors love chocolates from Germany very much. Dunno why...

After the trip to Shah Alam, had the chance to meet my old sec school frens the next day. It was a fun time talking about the good old days. Best of all is the chance to tease Ah Doi n Pei Wen. Eh u2, if u r reading this, must jia you oh~ haha. Mont Kiara go Serdang got bus de... :b

My hair, dunno wat to say about it...

1st post from Msia

Been bek 4 a week d... Home sweet home... manage to go bek to the days when i wake up n there's food on the table... The thought of not needing to cook surely pleases me... Mom's cooking is the best!

Everything in Msia stll remains the same. The air is still polluted as usual. Weather is still rainy. Mosquitoes r still attracted to me as usual. ( One of the indicators dat im bek in Msia has to be the mosquito bites dat i got after arriving in Msia ). Buses r crowded with ppl. The list just goes on.

Something that bothers me is still the fact that i cant rily adapt well here. Cant sleep eventhough it's 3am. Well, 3 am in Msia means 9pm the previous day in Germany. Who sleeps at 9pm? I was like tossing around my bed until 4am until i can finally sleep 4 the past few days. Worst thing is i wake up usually ard 11am to 12pm. When there's gathering with frens or special things which i need to attend to in the morning, i hv to drag myself from bed. I got less sleep compared to those exam days... cham rite? tmr have to wake up at 8am to go to Shah Alam... help!

To those frens who are going bek soon ( Soon Lee, Tze Yong, Justin ): Have a good n safe flight bek! hope to c u guys next year!

To those frens who i will meet this Sat (Pei Wen, Doi, Khan Ruey, Wei Wen n others) : Chocolates r running out fast! =)

To frens who decided to stay in Germany rather than come bek (Xiang Yu, Theng2, Etong, Yen Zhao) : I will call u when im eating bak kut teh! muahaha!

To Michelle: Take good care of urself ya~ Hope u will get well soon, will pray 4u.

My first time~

Yup, my first time watching my favourite team, Arsenal Football Club, playing live right in front of me!! Although it was only a non-competitive game, the excitement of watching them play was simply too much 4 me to contain!

This friendly game was held due to the renaming of Gottlieb-Daimler Stadion (Home ground of VFB Stuttgart) to Mercedes-Benz-Arena. Since the stadium is not so far from where i lived, watching this match was a must 4 me!

The entrance to the stadium

55000 supporters were present to mark this occasion.

Me n my housemate Markus included!!! He's a VFB Stuttgart fan n we were like shouting against each other during the game. =)

The stadium erupted when the players were introduced to the fans. Arsenal players wore their away strip (yellow). Can u imagine seeing players like Adebayor, Van Persie, Walcott, Nasri, etc in person? Adebayor looks like a big king kong on the field. Eventhough we sat quite far from the field, it was easy to spot him as he was so so huge!

Players training n warming up 4 the game

Shaking hands with each other b4 kick-off

As for the match itself, well, 1st half was kinda dull. Most of the players were visibly rusty from their holidays. Despite cheers, mexican waves n waving of flags from the crowd, both sets of players did not perform well. Limited chances were created.
2nd half was a diff story. The game became alive when VFB Stuttgart scored the first goal. The stadium erupted! everyone cheered as their team scored. However, their cheer would not last. *evil laugh*
The 1st goal seemed to have made the Arsenal players awake from their slumber. Shortly after Stuttgart has scored, Arsenal equalised through Vela. They then took the lead through Bendtner. Jack Wilshere complete the final nail in the coffin for Stuttgart. VFB Stuttgart 1-3 Arsenal FC. Muahaha!!! It seems like i was the only one cheering when Arsenal scored. Everyone was looking at me. Shioknya!

Snapshot during the match

Poor Stuttgart, 1st day change name of their stadium kena beaten by Arsenal. :b

Overall, it was a good game. Cheered a lot n had lotsa fun. To round up the whole event, fireworks were on display. Nice rite?
