Happy bday to me...

My 1st bday w/out my family celebrating it with me. My 1st bday in a foreign country. My 1st bday where everything i tink about is how to prevent myself from sleeping in lectures and labs. My 1st bday where i hv to wake up so early in the morning. My 1st bday where ppl start to wish me happy bday when it's not my bday yet (haha).

Anyway, thx to everyone 4 ur happy bday msg... made my a day a lot more special.. enjoy this day ya... the day when i was borned.. =)

D.I.Y day

I have mentioned in my previous post dat i have spent more in IKEA compared to Metzingen. Around 200 euros in one go... muahaha... 200 x 5 = RM 1000 onli mah... :b

After weeks of "not free", "lazy" n "i wan to sleep more lah..", i have finally summoned enuf determination in me to start making my room a better place to live in. The stuffs dat i have bought from IKEA were lying motionlessly till today. So do the screwdrivers, screws, drill machine etc have to be awakened from their slumber, not to mention my neighbours as well...

Sad day 4 Arsenal fans...

haiz... lazy to write abt wat happened... so copied the following post from my fren's blog...

Flamini受伤倒地的那一刻已经注定了Arsenal的败局。
Wenger好用不用，换了懒惰天王Gilberto上场。
局势马上180度转变，Liverpool控制了节奏。
Arsenal找不到那种默契，传球频频失误。
中场Fabregas独撑大梁，求助无门。
其中有一幕更是凄凉。
Fabregas前场获球转身想找人短传，却看到Gilberto在后场散步。
他一个人就这样从原本充满机会的前场落魄地带球到中场。
事后那一副抱头失望的表情，看了真令人心寒。
情势一直到Wenger把Walcott换上后才稍有起色。
Wenger把最后的希望，寄托在他和受伤康复后一直没有作为的Van Persie身上。
Arsenal要赢，真的还需要点运气。
八十三分钟，Walcott在后场获球，忽然神一般地连切四个人。
一个人从后场禁区外带到前场禁区！
我和智燊已经拉紧了神经，准备为Arsenal领军欧冠四强欢呼。
就在Adebayor扫进Walcott传中的那一刻，我们相拥而抱，大吹胜利的喇叭！
Walcott绝对是我们的英雄！我们呼喊着，狂喜着，这绝对是一个奇迹！
但就在我们庆祝完毕，坐下来的那一霎那，Toure在禁区内大动作却又没什么碰触地绊倒Babel。哨子响起，裁判亮了张黄卡给Toure。
全世界的Arsenal球迷沉默了。
这一声哨子吹灭了Walcott一分钟前的奇迹，吹灭了所有球迷的希望。
Gerrard不负众望地射进了点球。
Liverpool 3 - 2 Arsenal。
Arsenal才刚刚因为Walcott的奇迹恢复了状态，马上就被Referee小事当大事的哨子彻底地打垮。一撇不振。
最后一分钟Babel再下一城，给Arsenal球迷判了死刑。
而喜欢在后场散步的Gilberto这一会儿却不见人影，反到是Fabrecas苦苦地追赶已经突破的Babel。
这一个赛季真的踢得很不幸。
Rocisky, Eduardo, Sagna受伤。
Van Persie也处于低靡状态，害到大家只能眼睁睁地看“全能性前锋”Adebayor做戏。

On a lighter note...

Juz realised dat my past few posts contained elements like sadness, stress, anger, frustration, etc... Making others think dat life in Germany is like hell... like evrything can onli be associated with stress n hardship. Erm... no la... things r nt dat bad la actually.... haha... Thx 4 being concerned abt me, wishing me well, telling me to take care, etc... haha... Thanks to all frens n relatives out there who constantly visit my blog... =) im touched...

Im sure many of u r curious abt hw did i fare in my last labtest... Thanks to all ur well-wishes n good lucks i tink i shud b able to pass it. Despite nt revising much, the questions dat came out were those dat i have studied n memorised, much to my relieve. Thank God 4 guiding me throughout the whole test as well...

I shud be going bek to Msia this summer. Probably around early August after my german language course in Heilbronn. B4 dat i will make a small trip around Europe, probably Italy or Spain or Holland. Haven't plan anything concrete yet. Shud be going to Paris during my 1 week holiday in mid-May. Some might ask wat about Korea n Australia... haha... Korea? well, i have to ask Michelle whether she's free or not 1st? Michelle, r u? =) Trip to Korea shud be in summer 2009 or earliest winter 2008. Australia? hmmm.... depends on whether i still got money left onot after those trips... wahaha.... =)

Went to Konstanz yday. A so called mission trip planned by our church in Stuttgart where we reach out to malaysian students around the whole Baden-Wuerttemberg. Met seniors from Konstanz n played football with them, watched Arsenal vs Liverpool with them ( 1-1 zzz) n most importantly, had my 1st steamboat dinner in Germany!!

To gals who wan to c pics of german guys... exclusively 4 u all. haha... This is Steffen, our church leader... leng zai leh? haven married yet oh.... haha... The thing he's sitting on is a beatbox. The sound from it is similar to the sound from a drumset... a very creative invention to replace the bulky drumsets... dun have the "chiang" sound onli...

But the leng zai of all leng zais has to be the one above la... :b agree rite?

Tmr got lab test. Study until sien ady. haiz... duno if i can still rmb wat i have studied today. How i wish dat tmr the lecturer will come into class n tell us dat it's April fool's day n the test was a joke. Dream on... haiz...Studies of materials... seeing the title is ady enuf to put me to sleep. Crystals, dislocations, Brinell n Vickers hardness test.... *yawn* But tmr's test is rily imp. Nid to pass. My 1st test in Germany. yet, im procrastinating here... cham lah...

Easter- Mannheim, Metzingen, Sindelfingen, Heilbronn...

1st of all, wan to say dat im still fine, still fighting on bravely, n still surviving despite the tough challenges ahead... Hooray... 2 weeks have passed n im still alive... :b

The reward 4 "tahan-ing" 4 2 weeks is 4 days off from Uni due to the celebration of easter. Fri to Mon. Xiang Yu n Pau went to Munich w/out me... zzz... so my plan was to go Mannheim n visit my frens there, Yee Tong n Yen Zhao together with Qi Hao.

Mannheim, the 2nd largest city in the state Baden-Wuerttemberg. The so called City of Entertainment. I dint bring my camera along, so dun have photos... paiseh ya... It's ntg oso actually... haha... Mannheim is nt as splendid as wat i 1st tot.

2nd day, went to Metzingen. Wahaha... i broke my promise last time. I tot i could resist the temptation of not purchasing 4 more than 100 euros in Metzingen. sigh... i couldn't...

Next stop - Heilbronn. Spent 2 nites here. Played lotsa Dotas... with Heilbronn seniors summore. Pawned them shiok shiok... haha...

Thx to my frens- Yee Tong, Yen Zhao, n Qi Hao 4 ur hospitality. Managed to destress a lot during this trip. Haha... Although i dint sleep well 4 those nites (thanks to snoring from sumone), i had lotsa fun n had lotsa great food to digest.

Today, Tuesday, reality check-- Bek to uni again. Woke up 6.30am. Snowing like mad outside. zzzz.... the urge to ponteng surfaces... so cold n windy outside n yet still have to go 4 lectures... Got lab summore... unwillingly, i dragged myself to uni. Wad greeted me in the morning was chemical bonding. haiz... felt sleepy... very... 3 nites w/out gd sleep is certainly 2 much 4 me. I hate Snore. Very. No offence to ppl out there who snores. I hate snore bcos i dun have the ability to ignore it. My ears r too sensitive, stg which i dun like. I can hear things, no matter hw soft it is. I do hope my future partner will be sumone who doesnt't snore... lol...

After hectic lectures, tot i could finally get sum well-deserved rest. Who knows stg worse awaits me. "Big bird ar, help me to carry my stuffs from Diakonie." Pau. 4 ur info, Diakonie is a place where 2nd hand furnitures r sold. So the "stuffs" dat Pau meant was furnitures, huge n heavy furnitures!!!!! Cupboard, tables, chairs etc.... To add salt to injury, he's living on 2nd floor... gosh.... Thanks Pau 4 saving my time to go gym... zzz

Reward 4 being a "carrier", free dinner in KFC. Celebrated Xiang Yu's birthday as well... nw it's ady 11pm while im writing this post. Haven touch my books yet... haha... n tmr got Construction class, taught by a prof who likes dialect so much dat i cant even understand 10% of wat he said...

救命呀！！

1st day in uni - help...

1st day in uni. Duno hw to describe. Feel foreign n weird. Ish...

Uni in Germany got stg quite similar to Malaysia. Baca Doa b4 the sem starts. Haha. But nt islam doa la of cos. This is a voluntary service 4 christians in Germany, catholic or protestant. Weird huh... But attendance very low. Germans nowadays doesnt care abt religion anymore.

9am: Welcome event 4 all newcomers. Everyone on stage was telling us dat we have made a good choice in choosing Esslingen as our Uni, the best 4 blah blah blah...

10am: Free food!! Haven eaten breakfast yet n they served bread n coffee 4 free!! Took plenty of it! There's a meeting with the dekants( Head of faculty) at 12pm. Decided to ponteng. Haha... Turned out to be a very BAD decision. Haiz... watever la...

Second day, start lectures: =.=!

1st thought on my mind: Y did i choose to come to Germany to suffer??!!

Reason 1 : professors speak like bullet train. "Oi, im a foreigner leh!!! HELLoooooooo!!!!!!" Some speak dialects as well. zzzz... i cant even understand cantonese or hokkien, n yet u speak to me using german dialect.... zzzzzzz....... Even our class-rep speaks like an alien.

Reason 2 : Professors think dat we know everything. come on la... wat is S325, H123 etc...??? If u dint tell us dat that is sum steel beforehand i tot is car plate number ar.... zzz.... n dun tell us jokes dat we duno leh... seeing everyone laugh except me makes me feel like an idiot... haiz...

Reason 3 : Germans seem to know everything.... esp those who went 4 practicals in companies like Bosch or Daimler. Keep putting up their hands to answer questions. Even if prof dint ask, they always want to share their own opinion. Terima kasih atas cadangan kamu... zzz.. Stg like this wont happen in Msia.

Reason 4 : Test, Test, Test. Can u imagine dat 1st week ady got test?? Maths got. Technical drawing got. Worst of all, b4 entering the lab got test oso... zzzz... N it's counted in the finals. vomit... Heard from seniors dat it's ONLY 15 mins. 3-5 questions. essay style. Gosh....

Books i borrowed from the library. cham ady lah... so much to read... n all in german summore...

University of applied sciences of Esslingen- best in automotive n mechanical engineering, n oso best in torturing students. =.=

Seniors say it's onli tough in the 1st sem. After dat it will be much easier. Hope so lo... seniors oso told us dat they used to eat ice cream when feel stress. haha. nice way to relieve stress leh. =)

My way to destress? Bread + Nutella. yummy!

From "hotel" to "hostel"

After 6 weeks of stay at my "hotel" in Reutlingen (see my 1st post), i am now here at my final study place -- Esslingen. Im currently staying with 2 german guys. I cant speak chinese, english or even malay anymore!! Onli german!! sigh..... my german so lousy... everyday is gonna be a german lesson 4 me... haiz... hope i can cope with it.

My room is quite small oso. The most 12 m*2. A far cry compared to my hotel in Reutlingen. Thank God the rental per mth is onli 220 euros. Pau got a room 3 times bigger than mine but costs 310 euros. Watever la... mine still considered ok... but a little too far from uni... haiz...

Going to start class on Monday. THE REAL ONE. Haiz. Stress will come my way soon. The best university 4 Automotive n mechanical engineering in Germany leh...dun play play... but... stress stress stress!!! But it was my choice anyway. I have to live with it n i will do so. I wan to improve myself n this is my chance to do so!! Gambateh Daniel!!!

Do wish me luck n pray 4 me. =)

Anyway, there's still one more question on my mind. Shud i go bek Msia this summer? sigh... Hope sumone can give me sum suggestions... thx!

Crazy weather in Germany...

The title says it all. Few days ago i tot the season is going to change from winter to spring. There was one sunday where the temperature was 18 deg celcius. Stg like the temperature in Genting Highlands. I could jalan jalan outside with onli my T-shirt n shorts on. Then comes the unpredictable a few days later. HAIL.

I took this pic from inside the train to Stuttgart. It looks like rain but it's actually ice. Hard, solid ice falling down from the sky. Sounds crazy huh? Due to the bad weather all trains in Stuttgart were delayed. I could hear the sound of ice hitting the roof of the train clearly while waiting 4 the train to move.

Today, 4 March 08:

Me: Hey look, it's raining again!

Pau: (chewing his food)Ya lo... sien... dun feel like going to class ady...

Me: Wait a minute, it looks like snow!

Pau: (still chewing his food) it can't be la... It shud b spring soon...

Some distance away, there were 2 german gals talking to each other.

German gal A: Im draussen gibt es Schnee, oder? ( There's snow outside, rite?)

German gal B: Ja.. (yup...)

Pau: (Stunned) walao eh!! is it rily snowing??!!

It's my 1st time seeing snow falling from the sky. What i saw the last time was onli snow on the ground, but it wasn't snowing dat day.

Those white spots r snow. The building is my current hostel. Going to shift away soon. =(

Talking about snow makes me think about the name "Michelle". Michelle, if u happen to read this post, i've got a surprise 4 u. There's a train station with the name of "Michelau" in Germany. The way to pronounce it is abt the same like how ppl pronounce ur name..... Mi-chel-au... Anyway, hope u r doing well nw in Korea...
